The aim of this listing is to identify firms that excel at serving a variety of stakeholders well. The ranking identifies companies among the Russell 1000 (the largest publicly traded companies) that meet this criteria. The ranking is based on corporate service to seven stakeholder groups: stockholders, employees, customers, the community, the environment, overseas stakeholders, and women and minorities. Social scores are also applied by KLD Research & Analytics in Boston. This group rates each company in the areas of environment, community relations, employee relations, diversity, and customer relations.
