Point of Sale Software Specifically Designed for Small Businesses

Hewlett-Packard (HP) is one of the largest technology companies in the world, so who better to provide you with a comprehensive point-of-sale system? The HP rp3000 point-of-sale-system’s compact design and virtually silent operation makes it a pleasant office companion. The USB ports make it easy for you to connect other HP components, such as a cash drawer, credit-card reader, bar-code scanner, receipt printer and more. The rp3000 comes standard with 512MB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive with an Intel Atom processor. For the rp3000 operating system, you can choose from Windows Vista Business, Windows XP, or Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 FreeDOS. HP is so certain of these systems, it stands behind them with a three-year, on-site, next-business-day warranty standard.

So, where does HP make its money on this system? With the additional components. The terminal is the only inexpensive part to this system. The screens, cash drawers and barcode scanners can be very expensive. And since each additional piece of equipment plugs in to the external USB ports individually, you can end up with a mess of tangled wires.
