Ink cartridges and copy paper are a standard expense for any business. But what if we told you there was a way to reduce wasteful print jobs and cut costs? eFax is a faxing service that allows you to send and receive all your faxes through an e-mail account.
Once you sign up for an eFax account, you just enter the fax number into the “To” field of an e-mail, attach the file that you wish to fax and press send. Your e-mail will then be sent to the recipients fax machine and printed as a normal fax. When you sign up for eFax, you’ll choose will choose a local or toll-free fax number. When someone uses this number, the fax will be sent to your e-mail inbox as a file attachment. It retains all the same capabilities of an e-mail — you can open it, save it or forward it as you wish. eFax claims that its delivery times are no longer than five minutes and its network maintains a 99.5 percent uptime so your faxes get there fast and you don’t constantly get a busy signal.
While eFax may save you money by cutting unnecessary use of supplies, the service has a pretty large price tag compared to some of its competitors. Unlike some other online faxing services, eFax charges a set-up fee. Also, its packages and overage fees are more expensive.
