You no longer need that clunky fax machine. MyFax turns your e-mail account into your fax machine.
With a MyFax account, you simply enter the fax number in the “To” field of an e-mail, attach the file you want faxed and send it like a normal e-mail. Your e-mail will then be sent to the recipient's fax machine and printed as a normal fax. MyFax supports 178 file formats including Adobe, Corel, Lotus, Microsoft products and Mac PICT. Along with your MyFax account, you'll get a fax number for receiving faxes. And, no you don’t have to have a machine. When someone sends a fax to this number, the documents will be converted into a TIF or PDF file and sent to your e-mail inbox. Here, you can open the file and print, save, or forward it like a typical e-mail. There is no software to download, no set-up fees, no contract and overage charges are only 10 cents a page.
All in all, MyFax is a great alternative to your archaic fax machine. The one drawback is that in order to open faxes you receive, you must have TIF or PDF viewing software. But viewing software isn't hard to come by and there are several free options on the Internet.
