Think of Pixatell as the instant pudding of business communications. Just like that kitchen wonder, this software program increases efficiency and is easy to set up. Pixetell allows you to create informative screencasts without going through any complicated steps. Currently, the app is only compatible with PCs, but it seems to have garnered an enthusiastic fan base on the Web. We can see why. The screencasts are pretty dynamic and can handle attachments, voice recordings, webcam videos and more. The price isn’t bad either considering what other companies are charging for the same technology.
Pixetell works by first selecting a part of your computer screen that you want to capture. (Your entire screen can be captured too). After clicking “record,” it’s time to step into action. You can click around your screen and talk about what you’re clicking on in order to draw the viewer in. Of course you’ll need a microphone to record your voice file. But after you’re done, you can send the screencast immediately to a recipient via e-mail or instant message.
The Pixetell app doesn’t require any plug-ins or extra software to work. And one of the biggest perks is that it can function with any programs you have running on your computer. So you can create how-to screencasts of other programs without anything freezing up on you. Each screencast comes with a button that enables recipients of your screencast to respond with a message. Instead of writing up a separate e-mail to make comments on the screencast they’ve just seen, they can have a “conversation” with you within the screencast itself.
Pixetell has some new developments in the works. The developers plan on making a version for Macintosh users as well as a version for mobile devices.
